Merengue Dancing
The festive Merengue first originated in the Dominican Republic and has become the nation's official dance. This unique dance, it has been said, started when a returning war hero named General Maringie, danced dragging an injured leg. Out of courtesy, the public imitaded him. As a result, the dance is mostly comprised of walking steps and side steps, making it both fun and simple for anyone to do. While the movements are relatively uncomplicated, it becomes a rhythmical and exciting dance once leg and hip action are developed. Merengue also incorporates turns and pretzel-like moves which make it entertaining and interesting. The intoxicated music makes Merengue impossible to resist, inspiring every listener to get up and move.

Testimonials
I have been taking dance lessons at this studio for 10 months, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. The staff is phenomenal, a group of professional dancers and just great people to hang out with. The owners, John and Lisa, are very kind, helpful and supportive. I can't imagine taking lessons anywhere else. I love dancing, and they make it fun and exciting to learn.
